Duncan Ma joined Cheng Huan S.C.'s Chambers and commenced his practice as a barrister-at-law in 2016.
Duncan practises in both criminal and civil law. He has appeared as an advocate in the High Court, the District Court and the Magistrates’ Courts.
Duncan has conducted a wide spectrum of criminal matters including but not limited to assault, dangerous drugs offences, sexual offences, trade descriptions offences, criminal intimidation, theft, robbery, fraud and bribery, immigration offences, offences under Dutiable Commodities Ordinance and road traffic offences including careless driving, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drink driving and speeding.
Duncan has experience in conducting trials, doing Magistracy Appeals in the Court of First Instance and doing Criminal Appeals in the Court of Appeal. Duncan also regularly prosecutes on fiat for the Department of Justice.
In addition to his criminal work, Duncan has also been instructed in a wide range of civil cases involving areas including personal injury claims, employees’ compensation cases, employment law cases, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency matters, family and matrimonial disputes, contractual disputes, defamation cases and Small Claims Tribunal appeal cases.
